Hay Field, Lee county, Mississippi, USA |
We had several beautiful sunny days this week, but rain is in the forecast for this week-end.
Good Fences
Looking closer at the fence - four strands of barb wire on metal posts.I wonder why the tips of the posts are white. Does anyone know?
Have a wonderful week-end!

Pretty shots! I don't know why the tips of the fence posts are white... wondered about that myself. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeletethe white tips help to catch / reflect light at night like from headlights and flashlights, etc. :)
ReplyDeletethanks for the great scenes. love to see hay bales in the field!
I hardly ever get to see hay bales around this place, so I'm
ReplyDeleteglad you show me some. Did you realize that everything

Beautiful scenes Lea, those bales of hay are always a lovely addition to the rural scenery. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI think you have the answer on the reflection. Love those big round bales...look like they could feed a herd of animals for a long time!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots!
ReplyDeleteLove the light in your hay paddock shots. I find the round bales so much more photogenic than the square. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove the country scenes. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU
ReplyDeletePretty scene and Great capture of the hay bales and sky.. I wish you and your family a happy, healthy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI just love your outdoor pictures. The white tops to the fence posts are for visibility, oddly enough, the last ones I purchased at the hardware store were all green. I guess they knew I wouldn't be out looking for cows or horses at night!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2015!!
Beautiful pic and interesting question. I don't know why the tips are white. I'm guessing for visibility but I don't know.
ReplyDeleteThat is some pretty country there ... beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing and for stopping by my blog. Happy New Year to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteI adore fields filled with hay! Lovely photos! Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteI guess the white tips help you see them. Could be crucial if you are mowing grass!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's some good looking hay.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Skywatch pics. I'd enjoy the sun we have today a lot more if it wasn't accompanied by below zero windchills. :-\
