Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day January 2015

Northeast Mississippi, USA, zone 7
Buds on the Hellebores, Lenten Rose, January 14, 2015
No snow here yet, but we have had very cold temperatures.  On Thursday of last week the early morning temperature was 9F (-12C). The high that day was 27F (-3C).  When I made this photo yesterday, the temperature was just barely above freezing with partly cloudy skies.

Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!

  2. Those are temperatures I've never experienced and can only imagine. I don't think I'd do very well when it's that cold. Lovely to see some buds appearing.

  5. Winter has just begun -- I'm ready for it to give way to spring.

Hellebores are something that I've always admired but never planted.

  9. Brrrr. And to think I have been complaining about the cold and it's barely gone below freezing. But at least we have hellebores, the promise of things to come.

  13. Your hellebore looks as chilly as mine, Lea! Not sure which I prefer, the endless rain we are having or your cold. I, too, didn't realise it could get as cold as that in Mississippi!
