Storm Clouds, September 2, 2021

Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, August 29, 2021
Clouds were beginning to push north ahead of Hurricane Ida when we were at Pickwick Lake on Sunday. I am thankful that we are far enough inland that all we received from Ida was heavy rain - Six and four-tenths inches (16cm) in 24 hours.

See the birds along the shore.

American White Pelicans are migratory birds that stop here briefly on their way south for the Winter.

Thousands of people along the Gulf Coast are struggling to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Ida. And other places farther north have had severe flooding from torrential rainfall. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Have a blessed day!

  1. The amount of rain that you got seems amazing to me, Lea. I can't imagine where it would all go.

  2. That was a lot of rain. Don't know how much we got here but we were on the fringe only last night.

  8. Love the view of the White Pelicans. 6 4/10 inches in 24 hours is a lot of rain for any of us and happy it didn't create a lot of damage for you to deal with.

  9. We had the most rain ever in one day on this island. Even the remnants of Ida were miserable.
