What's blooming in June in my garden in the northeast corner of Mississippi, USA zone 7b
Click on the photos to see them at their best.
My flowers like to play tricks on me by blooming in between Bloom Days - Butterfly Weed on June 3rd.
My Spiderworts have been standing up proud with masses of blooms until heavy rains last week knocked them down. But they are still blooming laying down in the grass.
Day Lilies are everywhere!
Last week I bought these lovely Dianthus plants - three pots of them! I am not sure where I am going to plant them.
Another recent purchase - Strawberry plants. I've never seen red blooming ones; my others have white blooms. No ripe berries yet, so I don't know how the taste compares to my other strawberries.
My 'Burpless Beauty' Cucumbers are blooming, and there are a few tiny cucumbers.
Bees love the blooms on the Linden Tree (aka Basswood)
My mind is really slipping - I almost forgot my Gardenia!
For foliage as pretty as a flower - Nandina! And it produces tiny white blooms in the Spring.
Now for a look at things to come
The Mulleins (wildflowers), Verbascum thapsus, are putting up bloom stalks!
Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!

Lea - It is always wonderful to see gardens ahead of your own. I love those daylilies - mine will be blooming soon. And I am jealous of those cucumbers. I am trying to grow a few vegetables myself, but I am not doing well. Happy Bloom Day.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers, Lea! I have a few snow peas but not much else yet on my veggies.
ReplyDeleteLove daylilies. Only cucumber seedling sprouts here in Virginia. How could you almost forget the fragrant the gardenia?

Spring is looking quite lovely in your garden. Happy Bloom Day.
ReplyDeleteI have a gardenia bush (in a pot) that is half dead, but on the side with leaves it actually has a bud. Oh my. I used to love the scent of these flowers!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks really nice! I love that dianthus. Cucumber blossoms? My plants are barely up, I may have to start over. Weather hot then cold then hot then rainy...
ReplyDeleteFlowers do make people happy.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
We share daylilies and strawberries this month, Lea. Happy Bloom Day!
ReplyDeleteI just love your first photo. Happy you "broke" the GBBD rule and featured it. Linden trees are common here (although we don't have one on our property) and they should start to bloom any day now, if not already. I bought a red flowered strawberry and it's in a hanging basket, all covered up in Remay fabric to try to keep the birds from picking off the fruit. Of course that defeats the purpose of the ornamental flowers! (I did like the taste of the ones I saved from the birds.)
ReplyDeleteYour plants are way ahead of mine which have only been in a week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms loved the stunning shot of Butterfly bush . It would be my pleasure if you share your post on my Garden Link up party Garden Affair here at http://jaipurgardening.blogspot.com/2021/06/garden-affair-water-lilies.html
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely...everything! That Nandina is really special!
