Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, November 2020

The northeast corner of Mississippi USA zone 7b
I am glad I made these photos a few day ago - it is raining here today.

Carolina Jessamine is a vine that blooms after the Summer's heat has passed.

Turk's Cap is also called Sleeping Hibiscus.

My red Rose has a few blooms. Our temperatures have been so mild that the bees are still buzzing around!

But the star of the show this year is the "Autumn Royalty" Encore Azalea, blooming for 4 months now!

Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!

  1. We have some plants in common. I find it interesting that your Carolina jessamine blooms in autumn. Here in Texas, it's strictly a early spring bloomer. I'm glad to know that I can pop over to your blog and enjoy these lovely flowers now!

  4. Yum! I miss the blooms. I have a few things hanging on after multiple frosts and freezes, but my view is mostly gray and brown now. Thanks for sharing your color!

  5. I love Carolina Jessimine - it's not hardy where I live (New York State) but I've seen it bloom in Virginia (during a very mild late January visit), North and South Carolina (both in March). Interesting. I wonder if it blooms all winter in these places. I can't imagine an azalea that blooms for four months, either. (Just checked Encore Azalea and they wouldn't grow here, but might grow in the New York City area, part of which is also zone 7.) Happy GBBD to you.

  6. It has turned cool here and I think the last of my flowers will be gone this week. These ones are lovely, Lea!

  7. I love the azalea, Lea. That was one of my favorite plants in my former garden but sadly azaleas don't appreciate the conditions they find in my current garden. Happy GBBD!
