3. An Accident With a Happy Ending
We have wide porches on both sides of the house so it is unusual for birds to fly into our windows, but...
Prentis County, Mississippi, USA, August 15, 2019 |
I thought maybe a drink of water would help it recover, and when I took a jar lid of water to it, it was sitting up looking much better. When I checked on it a few minutes later, it had flown away - Happy Ending!
4. Spider (Saturday's Critters)

5. Hummingbird (I'd Rather B Birdin')

Have a wonderful day!

I didn't see any hummingbirds this year but I've seen a lot of cardinals. I hope your stunned female recovered completely. We have been somewhat cool but we will have a heat wave next week. Hope you have a week of great skies.
ReplyDeleteThat first photo is one of my favourite scenes of this time of year! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThat hummingbird pic is fabulous, Lea!
ReplyDeleteA lot of nice shots and interesting information. Glad the bird was ok and that is a colorful spider. That is very hot weather. We think if it gets near 80 it is hot and it IS!

...great image, great minds thin alike.
ReplyDelete...who won?
...lucky bird.
...not a favorite.
...now this is a favorite!
Thank Lea for stopping by, enjoy your weekend.
Glad to hear about the happy ending, and beautiful shot of the hummingbird. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies!
ReplyDeleteGood that the cardinal only needed a few minutes off her feet to feel better.
Love your sky over that field of bales of hay...so happy for the cardinal to survive. One time when Lorelei was just 3 or 4 years old a cardinal hit their window and died, and she just cried and cried....
ReplyDeleteLove the hummingbird...I do not feed them because one of my cats would for sure catch some.
Hang feeders higher than a cat can jump! Do not use feeders that attach to a deck or porch rail. Hummingbirds fly very fast, and never light on the ground. It is very unlikely for a cat to catch one unless you give it easy access to a feeder.
DeleteThanks for your visit, and have a wonderful weekend!
Hello, love the sky/hay field scene. I am glad there was a happy ending for the Cardinal. Your hummer photo is lovely, great capture. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your day and weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love hummers too and they come to our flowers! Love seeing that big field and all the neat photos...well, except that one! hahaha!
ReplyDeletegreat photo's....poor bird, but glad it was ok...happens all the time here too. the spider pic is awesome.
ReplyDeleteFirst...that spider, tho harmless, looks lethal. Loved the happy ending for the cardinal...and the great hummer! (I have a decal on our windows that keep birds from flying into them).
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, and you linking with us at I'd Rather B Birdin' is appreciated. Thanks.
