Butterfly Bush, Buddleia, attracts a swarm of butterflies, but only a few will stay still long enough for me to photograph them!
.
Spiderwort, a native wildflower I rescued from the side of the road before the highway department came along with their mowing machines.
I have a small patch of Rudbeckia, Black-eyed Susans, that I spray with an insecticidal soap to keep insects from eating the buds before they open. Why they are particularly attracted to these flowers I do not know.
Althea, Rose of Sharon 'Red Heart'
Encore Azalea 'Autumn Royalty'
The Crape Myrtles are just beginning to bloom.
I have a lot of Phlox plants, and they have been blooming for several weeks.

ReplyDeleteButterflies are really in abundance here, and we have been hatching Monarchs indoors too.
ReplyDeleteLovely butterflies!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms...I wish I could grow night blooming cactus in my garden...Happy blooms day.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post, Lea!
ReplyDeleteYay for rescuing the tradescantia (spiderwort!) from the roadside!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! And your photos of the butterflies are very cool. Our butterfly bush has begun its second bloom to the happiness of the butterflies coming through.
ReplyDeleteI love how you used flowers with butterflies on them. Where are mine? I can hardly even catch a bee on one, which really is a concern. I've said it many times, but I love crepe myrtle. Yet, my favorite here was the night bloomer. The first picture of it came out so nice. Happy GBBD to you.
ReplyDeleteA night blooming cactus! It is beautiful but I wouldn't want to risk getting stuck with a thorn while looking for it in the dark. Bravery isn't my biggest strength.
