Eastern Bluebirds,
Sialia sialis, are widespread over the eastern half of the United States and parts of Mexico. Insects are a large part of their diet, but they rely on wild fruits and berries for food in the Winter.

They are cavity nesting birds, using either natural holes in dead trees or man-made nest boxes.
Have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeleteHello, my favorite birds, Lovely captures of the Bluebirds. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThey are such pretty birds. I've only seen them a couple of times.
ReplyDeleteThat is a vivid shade of blue on the male.
ReplyDeleteThey are precious birds.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty birds. We have the Western Bluebird which is similar to the Eastern and the Mountain Bluebird which is all blue and small. Interesting, huh.

I love the colors on these lovely birds. Nice capture.
ReplyDeleteLea - thanks for your recent visit to my blog! I love bluebirds. Out here in Montana we have a different species, and they made an attempt to use our bird boxes before the squirrels chased them off by chewing around the entry hole. Next spring we plan to put washers around the hole and hope that will solve the problem!
