Tree Following, July 10, 2018

Tree Following is a fun meme! Just choose a tree, photograph it once a month as it goes through the changing seasons, post photos on your blog between the 7th and 14th of each month, and link to Tree Following at The SquirrelBasket

Lee County, Mississippi, USA, July 8, 2018
I am following a young Red Maple, Acer rubrum, that is in a small park with a walking track and a children's playground.

We have had abundant rain this year, and it is in a spot with lots of sun. These pretty green leaves will turn a blazing red in the Autumn, hence its name Red Maple.

The light grey trunk of the tree has lichen on it, but from what I have read about lichen, it will not harm the tree.

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Excellent shots!

One of the other bloggers I follow occasionally does that with a specific tree.

  4. It is fun! Maybe I'll join in again one of these days. I do enjoy seeing how trees change during the seasons and in different locales around the world. :)

  5. I like tree-following in part because makes us see more details ... for example lichen on trunk (nice photo).

  6. Looking good! And it will be interesting to see the autumn colour.
I am so jealous of your rain - we are having a drought this summer...
