A is for the American White Pelican

Pickwick Lake, Tennessee, USA, June 30, 2018
The American White Pelican, Pelecanus erythrorhynchos, is one of the largest North American birds. They can be found along the Pacific Coast, the Gulf of Mexico, and on inland lakes and ponds. Birding books and birding websites have maps showing their migratory routes to help you locate them at different times of the year.

Have a wonderful day!

  1. ...thanks, something that I'd never see here.

  2. Hello, the White Pelican are one of my many favorite birds. Great shot!
    Have a happy day!

  3. Good image! Nice feather detail, lovely water.

  4. Cool shot, Lea! The pelicans remind me of old guys sitting on a corner shooting the breeze.
