Willy Nilly Friday, July 13, 2018

Willy Nilly Friday 5, Sky Watch Friday, Weekend Reflections, Signs, Signs
and on Saturday, Saturday's Critters, and I'd Rather B Birdin'

1. Tennessee River (Sky Watch Friday and Weekend Reflections)
Colbert County, Alabama, USA, July 9, 2018
Wilson Dam on the Tennessee River between Muscle Shoals and Florence.

The near shore is in Muscle Shoals; across the river is Florence.

2. Good Food!
Florence, Alabama, USA July 9, 2018
Salad with Honey-Mustard Dressing, Potato Soup, and Chips with Salsa at Chili's Restaurant. Delicious! And I had leftovers to take home!

3. Canada Geese (Signs, Signs)
Colbert County, Alabama, USA, July 9, 2018
When you come to the end of the road...

… you have to turn around and go back the way you came!

4. Critters with Shells (Saturday's Critters)
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, June 24, 2018
A large critter (Softshell Turtle)

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, July 9, 2018
and a small critter (Snail)

5. Killdeer Family (I'd Rather B Birdin')
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, July 8, 2018
I was thrilled to see a pair of Killdeer with three baby birds! One stayed near its mother (or father)

The second one was near the other parent.

Keeping watch over the family

But the third one was a rebel, running around totally ignoring its parents calling for it!

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. ...an impressive river and dam.
    ...now I'm hungry.
...they can read the stop sign.
...I just haven't seem turtles in my travels this year.
...now I had my nursery, Killdeer would build nests in the middle of the parking lot. They weren't smart birds.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your weekend. 😀

  2. Have you eaten at the Rocking Chair in that area? I think it is in Tuscumbia, not Florence. We did. It has good country type cooking. I was so disappointed they had sold out of their meatloaf that day. Maybe my son will take me back sometime.... when they have some.

  3. Killdeer are fascinating birds and as Tom said not always very smart.

  4. That dam does look big.

    Are the geese authorized? :)

  5. Great collection...I clicked over from Signs and those geese in that pic made me laugh out loud ... obviously they missed the right time to make their deliveries. I remember being in Florence ALabama, because we have a Florence near us in Oregon and so we talked about it. ...I guess there are a few of them..... Was glad to see somebody else besides me doing signs meme as part of a collection.....I can’t seem to blog more than once a week these days, and I do enjoy Signs...
