Look for them perched near ponds or streams of water. You might see them dive head-first into the water to catch a small fish to eat.
Have a wonderful week-end!

Hello, The Kingfisher is one of my favorite birds. Great photo, they do not sit still for long. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteKingfishers are a lovely bird family. The Belted Kingfisher is one of my favourites even though it is many years since I saw one.

ReplyDeleteLovely kingfisher, we saw a few while on the coast in BC
ReplyDeleteLove that hairdo! He looks like he is going fast while just sitting there! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting little bird! Don't think I've ever seen one in this area but I think others have spotted them.
ReplyDeleteThat's a killer beak on that girl! All the better for stabbing fish, I'll bet!
ReplyDeleteThey are always such wonderful birds to see! Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteAwww, they are so cute, and that's an excellent photo, too. :)

Hello!:) Stunning shot of the Belted Kingfisher!:)
ReplyDeleteWonderful! This is a bird I see fairly often but can never get a picture of. I swear they will sit still for ages up until I put my finger on the camera button, then they fly. I'm envious ... but grateful that you shared.
