Critters: Robin, January 21, 2017

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, January 10, 2017
I was very surprised to see a few Robins at my house early one morning. I barely had time to get the camera before they flew away. This one is on a bird water jug that hangs in the pear tree most of the year, but we take it down in the Winter so that it does not freeze and break.
(I have a limestone bird bath for the birds to enjoy all year).

Have a wonderful week-end!

  1. I have not seen any robins this winter, they all must be vacations in the south. But many northern bloggers have shown robin this wither.

  5. Ah ... love your robin. Sweet picture. Our european robins are different and have an orange-red belly

  6. I saw Robins today too! Seems like they should be a Spring bird but it's fun to see them now!

  7. I actually saw a robin a couple of weeks ago. I think this weather has the birds confused. We consider them a sing of spring.

  8. Love that you were able to make this capture. They are gathering in hoards around our juniper trees eating the berries. Info I found says they gather in groups in the winter for warmth and to find food then appear singly or in pairs in the spring. I had never seen them in winter, either, till we moved here.
