I think this may be a Yellow-Bellied Slider, but I am not sure. Very handsome, isn't it?

Found on lakes, ponds and marshes all across the United States and parts of Canada, Grebes eat fish, small aquatic animals, and insects.

 
They have an amazing ability to adjust their buoyancy, and can sink down until only their heads are above the water.

    The turtle has such fancy shell and skin markings, Lea. The grebe is so cute, I would like to see one.

    I love that grebe, it is really low in the water. :) The crow makes a great silhouette :)

    That is a pretty turtle! I'm not any kind of expert on slider i.d.s, so I just call them sliders usually.

    Each and EVERY photo this weekend....superb. I do love watching the pied-bills as they look like they're really enjoying the play in water, diving, coming up....like ballet in water.
