  2. The white mushroom is so matte and curved, but the golden orange one vibrates in the light.

  5. It can't be autumn already can it? I take mushrooms like this as a sign that the seasons are turning - I think it may not be the case yet!

    1. I had not thought of mushrooms as the beginning of Autumn. Perhaps we see more of them in Autumn because after a dry Summer, rain comes in the Autumn, and that encourages mushrooms to pop up.
It is still mid-Summer here and very hot, but we have had a lot of rain.
Hope you are having a great day!

  7. Are they mushrooms or toad stools? Are they poisonous or not? These are always my questions when I see one. Great pictures.

    1. Hello Linda Kay,
I forgot we used to call them toadstools when I was a kid. I think we are more likely to see a garden fairy perched on one than a toad! As for poisonous or not, to me all mushrooms are poisonous except the ones I buy in the grocery store. Maybe I should see if the store-bought ones will stand upright in the grass and photograph them!
Do you eat wild mushrooms? You are braver than I am.

  9. I'm surprised I haven't seen more mushrooms this summer -- there were a ton everywhere I walked last year.
