Wild Bird Wednesday
Belted Kingfisher, Lee county, Mississippi, USA, July 8, 2015 |
I don't know what alarmed this Kingfisher, but it was calling and flapping its wings. I think it is a female; perhaps she has a nest nearby.
Belted kingfishers live near lakes, ponds, and streams where there is an abundance of food: small fish and other aquatic animals.

The kingfisher certainly looks aggravated. The sign on the old truck is a gorgeous design.
ReplyDeleteGreat sign!
ReplyDeleteLove the old truck with its well painted door signs, and the sign for bee sign. Think the bees have a way of keeping people away.
ReplyDeleteNice shots of the kingfisher.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the bees are hard at work.
I like the bees' work station. I wonder if the colors and playfulness of their station has them giggle while they work. :-)

You don't want to get in the middle of a buzzy bees at work.

Love the signs and the cool truck! Great kingfisher shot, too.
ReplyDeleteCute shots of the Kingfisher, he looks a little scruffy but I like the one with his wings spred out. The bees are madly at work in my garden but I lack the bee hive to harvest any of the honey.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun pic that first one is!
