Belted Kingfisher, July 29, 2015

Wild Bird Wednesday, ABC Wednesday, and Signs

Wild Bird Wednesday
Belted Kingfisher, Lee county, Mississippi, USA, July 8, 2015

I don't know what alarmed this Kingfisher, but it was calling and flapping its wings.  I think it is a female; perhaps she has a nest nearby.

Belted kingfishers live near lakes, ponds, and streams where there is an abundance of food:  small fish and other aquatic animals.

ABC Wednesday
C is for The Copper Still Wine and Spirits

The Copper Still is a boutique wine and spirits store in Gallatin, Tennessee, USA.

We spotted their truck at Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Corinth, Mississippi.

  2. The kingfisher certainly looks aggravated. The sign on the old truck is a gorgeous design.

  3. Love the old truck with its well painted door signs, and the sign for bee sign. Think the bees have a way of keeping people away.

  4. Nice shots of the kingfisher.
I'm glad the bees are hard at work.

  5. I like the bees' work station. I wonder if the colors and playfulness of their station has them giggle while they work. :-)

  10. Cute shots of the Kingfisher, he looks a little scruffy but I like the one with his wings spred out. The bees are madly at work in my garden but I lack the bee hive to harvest any of the honey.
