Good Fences
This Deer Fence is at the end of a valley in Colbert county, Alabama, near the Rattlesnake Saloon Restaurant. (To see my post on the Rattlesnake Saloon: Click Here)
We did not see any deer on our most recent visit, but here is a photo from the Autumn of 2012. The fence keeps the deer away from the restaurant and protects the deer from the hordes of people who come to eat there.

What a great deer fence, it looks plenty high but not very obtrusive. And protects those poor deer!
ReplyDeleteGlad your rain has stopped. That last shot is a lovely view and that fence is really high. I supposed it need to be as Derr can jump quite high.
ReplyDeleteRattlesnake Saloon and great fence shots what more could a girl want:?:) Perfect. B
ReplyDeleteCute deer! And the lake and sky do look pretty! Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteHooray for sunny skies!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lake with blue sky. Tall fence to protect the deer?
ReplyDeleteHello Nancy,
DeleteThanks for your visit to my blog.
I don't know about people where you live, but here there is a problem with people throwing their trash on the ground instead of in a garbage can. It is a disgusting habit, and there are laws against it, but some people still do it. Without the deer fence to keep people out, that pretty little lake you see behind the fence (that the deer depend on for water) would have discarded drink cups and other trash in it. So sad, but true. Not everyone appreciates the beauty of nature, and keeps it clean.
Hope you are having a wonderful day!
Lea
Great finds of fences and the deer is great as well behind the fence.
ReplyDeleteHave yourself a nice day!
Many of these tall fences in Texas to either keep the deer in or keep them out.
ReplyDeletePretty!!! And I do so love the one image with the deer just behind the fencing...looking at us who dare sneak up on it!
ReplyDeletesuch pretty green views. thanks, lea!
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to eat and see deer while I'm eating. That's a nice tall fence for sure. Wish you could send rain our way.
ReplyDeleteLovely Skywatch! Mine will post later tonight.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous skies over the water. So scenic. And love the deer by the fence. So cute.

ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend coming to you,
artmusedog and carol
Dad used to TRY to keep the deer from the garden with a fence much like this.
ReplyDeleteI like deer fences. They might be high but they don't interfere with the view very much.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunny skies, likely appreciated even more by all the recent rain!
ReplyDeleteLooks like an effective fence that does not block the gorgeous view.
ReplyDeleteLove the deer and glad you got some good weather.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, loved the deer :-)
ReplyDeleteGood weather and I enjoyed your beautiful sky take.
