H is for Hay
Hay Field, September 3, 2013, Prentiss county, Mississippi, USA |
This a very common sight at this time of year in northeast Mississippi.
In our state last year
750,000 acres of hay were harvested for a crop value of over 145 million dollars.
Have a beautiful day!

Nice capture! the blue sky is adding to the beauty of the pic.
ReplyDeleteI love those great enormous rolls of golden hay.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful sight to me!
ReplyDeleteI always think it's interesting that in some parts of the country hay is rolled in round bales and in other places, out west where I live, for example, the bales are rectangular. The rolled bales make a charming picture!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteImportant stuff, and it always looks so cool, to boot!

Great photo of the countryside.
ReplyDeleteI always want to stop and take photos of the fields with the hay bales in them.
ReplyDeleteThe huge pile is growing daily across the road from us ... the rectangular bales that stack so easily.
Sometimes I wish we could do the round bales, but we do square cause it's easier for us to handle for our horses.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. I love the way rolled hay looks.
ReplyDeleteHay fields provide fascinating vistas and blue skies with everything rolled must be relief for the farmer.

It's the time of year to start seeing these huge bales rolled up in the fields. Great shot!
