Wildbird Wednesday and Outdoor Wednesday February 6, 2013

We often see hawks perched on the power lines beside the roads.
They are wary of people, so you have to act fast to get a photo.
I think this is a Red-Shouldered Hawk.

  4. Hi Mea, yes we see them here too on the high lines all of the time. I rarely see one or get a good shot of one actually in a tree.

  7. Magnificent! I always feel a bit of a thrill when I spy one of the hawks around here. We saw one last Thursday driving past a local apple orchard en route to work. One of these days I'm going to manage a decent photo of one...
