Willy Nilly Friday 5, Sky Watch Friday, Floral Friday Fotos, Signs 2,

and on Saturday, Saturday's Critters and I'd Rather B Birdin'

1. Cloudy Skies (Sky Watch Friday)

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, September 14, 2020
We had 3 inches (7cm) of rain last Saturday, and partly cloudy skies with a few showers this week. Actually, I stopped here to photograph the Egret, and thought the sky was interesting, too!

Great Egret, Ardea alba.

2. Spider Lily (Floral Friday Fotos)

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, September 18, 2020
Spider Lilies, Lycoris, are members of the Amaryllis family of plants.

In late Summer or early Autumn they produce showy umbels of funnel shaped flowers.

They are perennials that bloom on bare stems; the leaves appear after the blooms fade.

3. The Ten Commandments (Signs 2)

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, September 15, 2020
The Ten Commandments are not multiple choice.

4. Portrait of a Grasshopper (Saturday's Critters)

Shiloh, Tennessee, USA, September 8, 2020
It's not often that I can get a Grasshopper to pose for me!

5. Killdeer (I'd Rather B Birdin')

Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, September 13, 2020
The Killdeer, Charadrius vociferus, an American Plover, is most often seen near fresh-water ponds, mudflats, and sandbars.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. That was a nice closeup to the grasshopper. There seem to be a lot of them this year,at least up here in New York State. I enjoyed your cloud photo with the lone egret in it, too. And the lilies that aren't hardy where I live.

  2. The egret and the lilies are beautiful. I enjoy seeing the grasshoppers this time of year too.

  3. What a great sign! Beautiful sky shot, too. Enjoy your weekend!

  4. Thank you! All your photos had me smiling. :)

  5. So Beautiful animal photos and very nice flowers!
    The sky is wonderful!
    Have a good weekend, Elke

  6. Hello, Lea!
What a great collection of photos. The sky and view are pretty peaceful scene. I love the spider lilies. Cool capture of the grasshopper. The Egret and Killdeer are my favorites, they are both beautiful birds. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, enjoy your day! Have a happy weekend! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

  7. Hello. Great serie. The photo of grasshopper is my favorite. It is awesome.

  8. ...we haven't had rain in what seems like forever. must be too cold for egrets here.
...I need to dig up my Amaryllis from th garden and pot it to force.
    ...lots of them here.
...I haven't seen a Killdeer since I sold the nursery.
Thanks Lea for joining the party.

  9. Nice photos. I hardly ever see killdeer, but I hear them every once in a while.

  10. Beautiful pictures! I love the sky, I will check out Sky Watch Friday :-) ooooh, your spider lily is gorgeous! I had a couple bulbs way back but they disappeared, either rotted or were dug up and eaten by wildlife. I do have the yellow variety which is doing much better than the red ever did. Then again, it may be the location :)

  11. The ten commandments aren't multiple choice? Love that one, Lea!

  12. The Killdeer is just beautiful...such striking feathers! I don't see one very often here. Happy weekend!

  13. Love the Killdeer---a sign of Spring here---to me anyway. # inches of rain---that is a LOt of rain. We got 1/2 in and I thought that was a lot---LOL. Spider Lily is very showy.

  14. Those are brilliant spider lilies! I love the egret too.

  15. Wow! Those lilies are gorgeous and I love the capture of the Egret and grasshopper.

  16. Great grasshopper closeup. Right now all I have to take pictures with is my iPhone. Missing my camera that I left in the RV down in Arizona. We thought we would be back in a month, not. - Margy

  17. Stunning Lycoris blooms. It would be my pleasure if you join my link up party related to Gardening here at
