Eastern Bluebirds,
Sialia sialis, can be found in the eastern half of North America and as far south as Nicaragua in Central America. They are cavity-nesting birds that have been greatly helped by the popularity of bluebird houses with small entrance holes that larger birds cannot enter.

This is one bird that has benefitted greatly from human aid as you say. They are now quite common here.

This is the bird that nested in an old bird house in my flower bed. I want to hang up more now that I know they like it. The couple is still hanging around my yard but I haven't ever seen them at the bird feeder. I hope more join them
