and on Saturday, Saturday's Critters, and I'd Rather B Birdin'

Click on the photos to see them at their best.

1. Blue Sky (Sky Watch Friday)
Lee County, Mississippi, USA, June 11, 2020
Thursday was a very pleasant day with sunny skies, a high temperature of 82F (28C), and a brisk breeze.

2. Garden Update: Tomatoes
Prentiss, County, Mississippi, USA, June 11, 2020
'Sweet 100' plants make small red cherry tomatoes. These are almost big enough to be getting ripe! They are indeterminate tomato plants (meaning they keep growing and producing until cold weather kills them).

3. Gardenia (Floral Friday Fotos)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, June 11, 2020
Gardenias are large shrubs that are available in several varieties. They have dark green leaves and flowers with a wonderful aroma. Just one plant will produce dozens (dare I say a hundred) of snow white flowers in the early Summer

4. Eastern Cottontail Rabbit (Saturday's Critters)
Lee County, Mississippi, USA, June 2, 2020
It is interesting to see a rabbit turn just one ear towards a sound. After listening for a minute, it decided I was not a threat (I was inside my car), and it went back to nibbling on the clover.

5. Eastern Kingbird (I'd Rather B Birdin')
Shiloh, Tennessee, USA, May 31, 2020
Eastern Kingbird, Tyrannus tyrannus.

Have a wonderful day!

  1. A lovely open field, with a beautiful sky! Cute bunny, I have one on my blog too.

  2. Love the sky when it looks like that! My gardenia (in a pot) is not blooming and is looking a bit wan.

  3. Beautiful shots. Looks like you're going to be enjoying tomatoes this summer!

  4. Your tomatoes are coming along nicely!

  5. I got the first flowers on my tomatoes yesterday! The ones I bought as plants not the ones that sprouted from slices.

  6. Hey Lea, I saw your comment just now and wanted to let you know I am growing these tomatoes: Celebrity, Mr. Stripey, Lemon Boy, Cherokee Purple, Beefsteak, and a couple of mystery plants I picked up and realized they didn't have a marker! lol I love growing tomatoes and eating them. You should check out Roots and Refuge Farm on Youtube. The lady grows so many different types of tomatoes and she inspired my vertical garden project.

  7. I gave up on cherry tomatoes a while back, but this year I am growing a patio tomato in a pot. I did like the taste of the Sweet 100's a lot back when I did grow them.

  8. Your tomatoes are going to be fabulous, you lucky lady! What a lovely collection for all the memes. You live in such a pretty area.

  9. Oh, I imagine the gardenias smell wonderful!

  10. Hello, Pretty landscape and sky capture. The bunny is so cute! Great shot of the Kingbird! Love the gardenia and your tomatoes are looking great. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend.

  11. tomatoes are growing, but it will be a long time before I will have anything to pick!!!

  12. I love to see the tomatoes when they are growing. Always feels like such an achievement. Great shot of the Eastern Kingbird too.

  13. I like that sky photo! Looks like a perfect day. Great capture of the Eastern Kingbird. I usually only see them when we are going down the highway much too fast to take any photos. Hope you are in the middle of a great weekend.

  14. Oh to have home-grown tomatoes! Yum. Love the Kingbird! Hope your day has been super so far, and thanks for joining us at IRBB.
