Northern Mockingbirds,
Mimus polyglottos, are well-known birds in the United States, except for the north-central and northwest regions. And during the Summer breeding season, they may visit southeastern Canada. They are "northern" because there are "southern" Mockingbirds in South America. They do not usually come to backyard feeders, but you can attract them by planting ornamental shrubs that produce berries. They also eat a wide variety of insects.
Have a wonderful day!

Love to hear them sing. Many years ago one would park itself on the chimney and sing away.

My Corner of the World
They are fun! I remember seeing them often and hearing them with all their calls and mimics during my month-long stay with my parents in Florida several years ago. Believe it or not, we are on the northern edge of their breeding range here in S. Wisconsin, so we do sometimes see them in the summer. I've only seen them a couple of times up here, though. Fun birds!
