Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, February 16, 2020 |
Last Sunday a small flock (about 20 birds) of Ring-necked Ducks, Aythya collaris, were on a pond a few miles from our house. As the weather begins to warm up, Ring-necked Ducks will be on their way to their breeding grounds in Canada and Alaska, though some flocks stop in the United States just south of the US/Canada border to nest and raise their young.
I hope to see them again next Winter!
Have a blessed day!
