I am surprised that this photo of a male Belted Kingfisher, Megaceryle alcyon, came out as well as it did. The day was very cloudy with sporadic rain.

Have a wonderful day!

  3. Well done with the Belted Kingfisher. Every year a few more stay here for the winter. As long as open water remains they seem not to be bothered by cold temperature.
