Perhaps the loons use a different migratory path on their northbound journey.
ReplyDeleteCanada Geese are not my favorite birds, but I enjoyed your picture with a hint of red in the water. First snow on the ground for us today.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to manage a lot of pics of herons! You must be lucky or there are a lot of them there! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of Great Blue Herons at Pickwick Lake, more in the winter months than the summer. As for the others, I may be photographing the same ones again and again! Herons are large birds, easy to see, and they stand very still, easier to photograph than birds that flit around a lot. Herons are my favorite birds in Autumn and Winter. Hummingbirds are my favorites in Spring and Summer!
DeleteThere are loons here sometimes but I’ve never been lucky enough to see any. Love that haunting sound they make.
ReplyDeleteThe heron is my favourite of these.
ReplyDeletePretty shots. I didn't realize what a grand river the Tennessee is!!
ReplyDeleteHello, great captures of all the birds. I love the heron and loon. The views of the dam and boat are wonderful. Great photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend! PS, thank you for the visit and comment.
ReplyDelete...Lea, it's good to see that the Loons are enjoying their winter vacation. Please send them north in spring.
ReplyDeleteThe geese are so neat to see! Love all of your photos! What a great place to go and see boats AND birds!
ReplyDeleteThat hedge trimming is an awesome idea! And I LOVE LOONS...I'd love to see them cloaked in breeding plumage.
ReplyDeleteStopping by I'd Rather B Birdin this week and sharing your link is appreciated...thanks!
