Great Blue Heron, June 26, 2019

Wild Bird Wednesday and My Corner of the World

Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, May 5, 2019
Great Blue Herons, Ardea herodias, are all-year residents in many parts of the United States, and visit southern Canada in the Summer months. They eat fish, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, and insects.

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Love the herons, great photo. Wishing you a happy day!

  2. Cool shot of the Heron. Such an interesting bird.

  3. Thank you for sharing one of our favorite birds! Although I am jealous he has more hair on his head than I do. :)

  4. It is always a thrill to see one!

  5. Great shot...I love to watch these birds when they are hunting.

  6. They almost look a bit top heavy with the huge beak don't they?

  7. I love this regal bird! Great capture :)
