Willy Nilly Friday 5, Sky Watch Friday, Week-End Reflections, Saturday's Critters,
and I'd Rather B Birdin'

1. Geese on a Pond (Sky Watch Friday and I'd Rather B Birdin')
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, November 24, 2017
We are having pleasantly cool days and cold nights. Every time I drive by this pond I slow down to look for birds.

And there on the far side of the pond last Friday, Canada Geese!

Since this is the first time I have seen them on this pond, I feel sure they are migrants from farther north. (Of course, there are several flocks of Canada Geese that stay all year in the city parks in Tupelo about 25 miles south of us).

2. Autumn Color
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, November 26, 2017
The Spirea in my backyard has hundreds of tiny white flowers in the Spring and is a blaze of color in the Autumn.

3. Turtles in the Sun (Saturday's Critters and Week-end Reflections)
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, November 27, 2017
Turtles were enjoying the brilliant sunshine on Monday.

4. Did You Know?

"Bats use complex sounds to greet, direct, warn and play with one another."

Baldwyn, Mississippi, USA, November 28, 2017
Onondaga Cave State Park in Missouri is highlighted on the side of this U-Haul van.

5. Christmas is Coming!
We may not have snow at Christmas, but we like to see it on our Christmas cards!

Have a wonderful day!

  4. Thinking how nice that sun must feel - by the way, if you don't think you have enough recent Canada Geese, we in upstate New York will be happy to give you some more.

  10. The Christmas card is the style I prefer - the Currier and Ives look. My Christmas stocking is cross-stitch with that style - thanks for warming my heart with that photo!
