ABC Wednesday
W is for Wilson's Snipe
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, November 27, 2017 |
They use their long bills to probe the water and muddy shores for insect larva, earthworms, snails, and other small invertebrates.
This one pulled something (a worm?) from the ground, walked a few steps to the water's edge, and dipped it in the water before eating it.
Have a Wonderful Day!

Nice shots of the Wilson's Snipe. It's a new bird for me. I really like that you posted where the photo was taken. I wish more blogs had that information. It keeps me from spending so much time trying to figure out the bird location. Have a great week ahead and Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteWe just had bird counting day in our home town. Lots of people from the Nature Society participate. - Margy
