Willy Nilly Friday 5, Sky Watch Friday, and Floral Friday Fotos
And on Saturday: Camera Critters, Saturday's Critters, and I'd Rather B Birdin'

1. Clouds (Sky Watch Friday)
Lee County, Mississippi, USA, August 8, 2017
Rain on Monday brought cooler temperatures. We are hoping that the worst of this Summer's heat is behind us and a long, pleasantly cool Autumn is ahead.

2. Great Blue Herons (I'd Rather B Birdin')
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, July 4, 2017
You may remember seeing this photo of one Great Blue Heron chasing another Heron away from a favorite fishing spot. On Monday we were again at Pickwick, and I saw the same thing happen again!

Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, August 7, 2017
I cannot say these are the same two Herons, but I wonder.

3. Put out to Pasture (Camera Critters and Saturday's Critters)
Lee County, Mississippi, USA, August 5, 2017
Do not worry about this horse. He is not abused nor neglected; he is just very old. He has a large green pasture with plenty of shade trees and a warm barn for shelter in the Winter.

4. Good Food
Shiloh, Tennessee, USA, August 10, 2017
Yesterday we went to lunch at Hagy's Catfish Hotel Restaurant. I ate Lemon-pepper Grilled Catfish, a Baked Sweet Potato, and Strawberry Fields Salad (lettuce, strawberries, sliced almonds, and feta cheese) with a Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing. It was delicious!
(Note: There is not an actual hotel here. Hotel is just part of the restaurant name)

As an added bonus, the restaurant faces the beautiful Tennessee River.

5. Morning Glory Vine (Floral Friday Fotos)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, August 10, 2017
The thing I find fascinating about the Morning Glory Vine is that each bloom seems to be lit from within! I think this variety is Ipomoea purpurea.

Have a wonderful week-end!

  1. ...now that's quite the sky! Our cool wet summer as given way to some hot temps, what a strange year.

  2. Beautiful sky photo! I also love the morning glory... I have that same kind and I agree they seem to be "lit" from inside. :)

  6. Beautiful photographs. I liked the sweet, old horse the best. I also have morning glories growing that looks just like these purple beauties. I enjoy the star pattern they have. In one section of the yard a few of the morning glories are white with a purple star. I agree, they seem to be lit from within.

  11. Lea - I am so glad you explained about the horse - we know people, as they age, are sometimes ignored - how much more often it happens with animals! Have a wonderful weekend.
