Every year it is a race between us and the raccoons to see who gets the larger portion!
I hope you have a wonderful week!

...something that I've never had.
ReplyDeleteHello, I have to figs are not a favorite for me. It is neat to see how they grow. Happy Monday, enjoy your day and new week!
ReplyDeleteLovely and creative macro shot of the fig tree ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteYou got a great crop!
ReplyDeleteLovely figs! I grew them here but the ants got to them before I could.
ReplyDeleteYour figs look like the same variety I am growing. Should be ripening in a couple of weeks, I hope.
ReplyDeleteWe have Brown Turkey fig which we are waiting to ripen.
ReplyDeleteLea, it has been such a long time since we have had fresh figs! My husband's grandmother had a fig tree in her yard. She made strawberry/fig preserves, and we all loved it. I have the recipe.....but no figs available.....not even at the farmer's market. I guess it would be best to plant a fig tree!
ReplyDeleteFigs are such a treat. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteOf you lucky lady! Some of Mrs.F.G.'s relatives try repeatedly to grow fig trees (whuch have to be taken in in the winter), but figs just won't mature here.
ReplyDeleteLove the figs. I'm having one right now.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever even eaten a fig somehow. (We will try new produce and foods whenever we can, just don't think I've ever seen one in the market and wold not be sure what to do with it. Just eat them raw?
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty.
Yes, they are delicious eaten raw, or they can be cooked with sugar to make fig preserves.
DeleteThanks for replying on my blog too Lea!!! I've added figs to my 'must try' list -- I will look for them at Whole Foods or at the Farmer's Market, though I don't think they grow here, otherwise I surely would have seen them before.
DeleteWe love figs here too, and have a variety called Brunswick, which, if the weather was warm for longer would give two crops in the year. Your crop looks luscious, Lea.
ReplyDeletePlanted a small fig tree at our Stone House on the Hill in Greece last spring, can hardly wait to be there during the season to watch it produce!
