Deer and Killdeer (bird), June 11, 2016

Saturday's Critters, Camera Critters, and I'd Rather B Birdin'

Saturday's Critters and Camera Critters
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, May 26, 2016
This young White-Tailed Deer has been coming with its mother to our bird feeders (and eating my flowers!) since last Autumn.

And now, look! - antler buds - it's a boy!

I'd Rather B Birdin'
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, June 6, 2016
This Killdeer, Charadrius vociferus (in the Plover family), was not sure if I was a danger to it or not. But after staring at me for a minute, it continued searching the grass for something to eat.

Have a wonderful week-end!

  11. Ha, the Killdeer always look so startled! We have white-tails here too, and their horns are coming in. So we have had to put wire around all our young trees. And yes, our flowers, too! Have a wonder-filled week, Lea!

  15. The deer are so cute!

But they make me mad when they eat my mountain laurels, which grow so slowly anyways.
