White-Tailed Deer, Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, November 23, 2015
This deer standing beside the road seemed as much interested in me as I was in it. Notice how it is using the shadow of a tree to keep the sun out of its eyes (just as we would) to see better.
Good morning, pretty deer and smart too. I hope it stays off the road. Great shot. Thank you for linking this post and sharing your critter! Have a happy weekend!
How pretty! One thing I've noticed with my goats is that their ears make perfect sun visors for them. Of course, it's hard to get good pictures without shadows, but I'm sure it is good for them.

ReplyDeleteHow interesting to see the deer behaving in that way. Nice photo Lea.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you.
How I wish that sun in my eyes was a problem.
ReplyDeleteAfter a week of rain, I'd like to see the sun again, too!
DeleteWhat a peaceful picture! Happy New Year....
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see this pretty deer after so many road kills in our area as they are on the run during hunting season.

ReplyDeleteDeer have to be very observant and clever to stay away from predators. - Margy
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Lea!
ReplyDeleteI love Bambi, as long as they aren't eating my mountain laurels!

lovely visitor
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, lucky you were there at the right time :-)
ReplyDeleteNeat shot, and so perceptive to point out that the deer made up for lacking sunglasses!
ReplyDeleteWhat an inquisitive looking creature. Cute! Happy New Year!
