I finally got a photo of a Red-Tailed Hawk that clearly shows his reddish-brown tail. This tall dead tree is alongside the highway north of Tupelo. It seems to be a favorite perch for hawks scanning the ground looking for their next meal.
Have a wonderful week-end!

ReplyDeletelove these tree-top guys and gals. :)
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous bird. About a month ago, I walked outside in my front yard and there were two of these hawks just sitting on the roof of my neighbor's car! By the time I could go in and get my camera, they were gone.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photography of one of nature's gems!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you,

A very handsome bird. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. I love shots of birds sitting on stark branches of trees that grow in the swamps.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the handsome fellow. I always only get glimpses of the red tail when I see a hawk fly by.

Beautiful photo, very handsome visitor :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat pic, Lea! We saw a couple hawks circling overhead this past weekend, but they never swooped down low enough to get a few photos. Loved watching them reel above us, though. ☺
