Brown Thrasher, June 13, 2021

The Brown Thrasher, Toxostoma rufum, is a ground forager who eats insects, seeds, nuts, and berries. Brown Thrashers can imitate a wide variety of other birds' songs, but are not as well known as Mockingbirds because they spend much of their time hidden in dense underbrush (unlike Mockingbirds who sing from the tree tops). Their range includes the eastern and central parts of the United States and southern Canada.

Have a blessed day!

I made this photo of a female Red-bellied Woodpecker, Melanerpes carolinus, through my dining room window. Red-bellied Woodpeckers can be found in much of the eastern half of the United States. You may attract them to your yard by hanging suet feeders.

I hope you have a beautiful day!

I don't know what this Common Grackle, Quiscalus quiscula, has found in the pile of rocks, but it certainly has its eye on something! They eat seeds, insects, small fish and amphibians, and mice.

I hope you have a beautiful day!
