Dove with Goldfinches

My Corner of the World and Wild Bird Wednesday

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, February 7, 2024
We put sunflower seed on the ground for the Morning Doves, Zenaida macroura. The American Goldfinches, Spinus tristis, love the seeds, too. Both birds are common all across North America.
(The pole supports another bird feeder).
Have a great day!

  5. Could it be? Yes, the American goldfinch on the left is starting to show its breeding plumage. Spring is on its way and I am smiling.
