Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day

The northeast corner of Mississippi, USA zone 7b

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, January 14, 2023
My Hellebores began to form buds in mid-December. The weather forecast was for much colder weather (5°F) near Christmas, so I covered them with hay. They survived, but the blooms are smaller than normal.

Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!

It was good idea to cover them with the hay. The blooms are pretty. Happy Sunday, have a great new week!

  5. It's very pretty, even if small. It certainly got cold for you. I am one of those ignorant Americans who don't realize Mississippi can get that cold!

  6. I do love your Hellebores! Ours are blooming here too, despite the crazy weather. We have had everything from 50 degree days to temperatures in the single digits to thunderstorms in January! Happy Bloom Day!

  7. Ah, Hellebores blooming! Though we've had warm January weather (for us), mine likely won't bloom until March. Yours are lovely. :)
