Harvest Monday and Our World Tuesday
I harvested my first potatoes today! From four 'Red Norland' seed potatoes, I have one pound and one ounce of new potatoes. I spaced out my plantings so I should have some more ready to harvest in about ten days. In case you think the tiny potatoes are too small to use, they will be good dropped whole and unpeeled into a pot of vegetable soup.

Those potatoes look great! There's nothing like the taste of a really new potato. I love them cooked together with green beans.

I am salivating just looking at them.
ReplyDeleteOur community garden (upstate New York) just opened about three weeks ago so our potatoes are just newly planted. But we had a surprise - a large potato left over from last year (we can keep the same plot year after year) in the ground - it survived the winter and the tilling! So I guess you could say we've already harvested a potato, also.
