Saturday's Critters and I'd Rather B Birdin'

Click on the photos to see them at their best.

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, January 11, 2021
I am delighted to have a Red-breasted Nuthatch, Sitta canadensis, coming to my suet feeder!

It is a Winter visitor to our area and will return to its northern breeding territory in the Spring.

Have a wonderful day!

  2. Always a delightful visitor to a backyard bird feeder. I have both Red-breasted and White-breasted Nuthatches visiting my feeders daily.

  3. Nice! We sometimes get Red-breasted Nuthatches, but the White-breasted Nuthatches are the usual visitors.

  4. I love watching the nuthatches climbing up and down trees. We don't have them here that I know of but we have a warbler that does that. What a pretty bird.

  11. We get the Red-breasted Nuthatches here in winter also. We also have the equally delightful Brown-headed Nuthatches throughout the year.
