Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, April 21, 2019 |
When we were there Sunday afternoon, there were wildflowers blooming under the trees. I think these are Wood Sorrels (or some kind of Oxalis).
There is a small lake with ducks and geese. Children (and adults, too) enjoy feeding them, and there are two children's playgrounds for their entertainment, too.
I was surprised to see a Great Blue Heron there with the Canada Geese!
It flew when people got too close, but landed again not far away.
And of course, there are squirrels!
The park also includes acres of sports fields, but I was more interested in the natural world side of it.
I hope you have a beautiful day!

ReplyDeleteA pretty walk!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots.
ReplyDeleteLove these dainty wildflowers, and the birds and squirrel enjoying spring! Hope you take time for yourself to enjoy this time of the year, Lea! (I remember some time ago there was some physical things going on with your hubby, but please be kind to yourself and take a break once in a while -and let someone stay with him, if needed) Anyway, you deserve to enjoy life:):) Many thanks for linking up these lovely items to All Seasons!
ReplyDeleteA lovely place!
ReplyDeleteYou wonder what the geese think of the even bigger heron.
ReplyDeleteVery cool park. I'm imagining that the geese and heron flew together on the same air current and became great friends, but they're not letting the humans know.
ReplyDeleteLooks a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs.
All the best Jan
