Willy Nilly Friday 5, Sky Watch Friday,
and on Saturday, Saturday's Critters, and I'd Rather B Birdin'

1. Sunshine! (Sky Watch Friday)
Baldwyn, Mississippi, USA, March 16, 2019
The sun is shining, trees are budding, birds are singing!

Common Starling aka European Starling, Sturnus vulgaris

.
2. Good Food!
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, March 6, 2019
At Taziki's Mediterranean Café: Mediterranean Salad with Grilled Salmon - mixed lettuces with garbanzo beans, roasted red peppers, red onions, diced tomatoes, roasted pecans, feta cheese, and char-grilled Atlantic salmon. The pita bread was delicious, and I tried two salad dressings. The dark one, balsamic vinaigrette, was tart; the lighter one, a Greek dressing, was milder. Every bite was absolutely delicious!

3. Train
Lee County, Mississippi, USA, March 7, 2019
Well now, is the train coming or going?

4. Warm-up Exercise (Saturday's Critters)
Canada Goose, Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, March 20, 2019
To increase your strength and flexibility, stand on one leg and s-t-r-e-t-c-h!

5. Cedar Waxwings (I'd Rather B Birdin')
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, March 18, 2019
You have to look closely to see these two Cedar Waxwings, Bombycilla cedrorum, eating berries.

Have a wonderful weekend!

*The train is going away. The red engine is pulling the grey engine.

  2. ...I saw my first robin of the year and tonight snow will return.
    ...looks mighty good.
    ...I hope that it isn't a tug-a-war!
...I wish that my balance was that good.
...haven't seen one in a long time.
Thanks Lea for stopping by, I hope that you have a great weekend.

  8. The salad looks terrific but it really is time to stop patronizing places that still use plastic containers and disposable straws, cups etc. The only was we can make a difference is to politely tell the owners of the establishments why. It can make a difference. I can attest to that from experience.

    1. Thank you for your concern. We all need to be more aware of environmental issues. Logging is a major industry here, so for me it is the loss of our forests that really upsets me.

  13. I've read on my online bird site where the C Waxwings are returning here, but haven't seen any yet. By the way, that salmon looks scrumptious.

  14. Cedar waxwings are a favorite of mine. I actually got a pic this spring, but it isn't very good. But I'll take it since I wasn't successful before. That salmon dish looks tasty! Have a great week!

  15. The starlings really have beautiful coloring, don't they--when the sun hits them just right, you can really see the green and the spotted areas. That Mediterranean meal looks yummy!
