When I made these photos yesterday it was cloudy and cold, 38F (3.3C).
We have had a lot of rain, but no snow yet.
Hellebores! I have had these so long that I don't remember their individual names.

Hellebores are so beautiful and so welcome at this time of year. Your Cardinal is such a wonderful colour, beautiful bird.
ReplyDelete...I have some Hellebores out there somewhere!
ReplyDeleteYour hellebores are ahead of mine in bud. Happy GBBD.
ReplyDeleteJanuary looks good in your area!
ReplyDeleteHellebores are fantastic. I seriously need to add some to my garden. Thank goodness for the birds that bring us color on the grayest of winter days.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! It's always exciting to see pictures of cardinals as we don't have them here and I've never seen one in person. We do have year round hummingbirds to amuse us though.
ReplyDeleteThe cardinal adds the best color to a winter garden! I've never seen one, we don't have them in Oregon.
ReplyDeleteThings there will come back to life long before they do here.
ReplyDeleteHellebore are among the only flowers that would even dare where I live. I have a white one that has been known to try to bloom in January - too many times an extreme coldwave comes along and we don't have the snow cover we need. But we may get it this weekend. Love the cardinal!
ReplyDeleteI think we have a good while to wait yet...we are supposed to get more snow this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe bulb foliage always gets me excited - mine's beginning to make an appearance too. I envy you the hellebores (mine are slow and fussy) and I love the cardinal, which isn't a bird that visits here. Happy GBBD, Lea!
ReplyDeleteSpring-like weather here. in the 20s at night but sunny days. I have pink Hellebores too and white ones. No Cardinals out this way but my DaFFS ARE COMING UP.
ReplyDeletehAVE A NICE DAY

Wow! It's surprising to see bulbs starting to come up in January and we are in the same zone! Your Hellebores are lovely. Mine just have buds right now and will probably bloom in a few weeks or so. Happy Bloom Day!
ReplyDeleteI love the hellebores - definitely going to add more to my garden in the future!
