Chipping Sparrow on a Split-Rail Fence
Click Here for an explanation of split-rail fence construction.

Chipping Sparrows, Spizella passerine, can be found all across the United States and in many parts of Canada. They sometimes winter as far south as Mexico.

Have a wonderful day!

  7. I love the ordinary little sparrow. They don;t fly off and leave me for half the year like some of my other bird friends. My only trouble with them is they rarely sit still. I like your little fence sitter.
