Quilts and Ducks, November 2, 2016

ABC Wednesday and Wild Bird Wednesday

ABC Wednesday
Q is for Quilts: warm bed coverings made of padding sewn between decorative pieces of fabric.
Bethel Springs, Tennessee, USA, October 14, 2016
Recently I went to the McNairy County Quilt Show. Hundreds of quilts! Here are just a few.

Wild Bird Wednesday
Muscovy Ducks
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, October 31, 2016
These Muscovy Ducks, living on a pond in a city park, are not as wild as they would be if they were living in a more remote place. It was the iridescent green feathers that caught my attention as I walked around the lake at Veterans Park.

Have a great day!

  6. Wonderful quilts. My mother was a quilter and I have several of hers which I treasure. The International Quilt Festival is happening here in Houston this week. It's always a treat to visit. Many of those quilts are really works of art, just amazing.

  8. Gosh there are some incredibly creative quilts there! And I like the Muscoveys.... first time I ever saw one was with a small grandson in a Tacoma WA city park...neither of us could believe what we were seeing among all the usual ducks there .
