    1. The Visitors Center was closed when we were there, so I do not know this owl's history. Wildlife Rehab Centers care for injured animals until they are able to return to the wild. Sometimes an injury does not heal well enough for the animal to survive in its natural habitat, and they are kept for educational purposes. Perhaps a school child seeing the animals will be inspired to make wildlife conservation his/her life's work.
