'Encore' Azalea, Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 15, 2016
We have been vey dry, but a slow drizzly rain yesterday gave my Azalea the strength to open its buds. Encore Azaleas bloom in the Spring and again in the Autumn.

No encore for our azaleas in upstate New York. Most of my area has had its first frost - for some reason we usually get frost about a week after everyone else. But I've taken my cuttings of plants I hope to try to overwinter. We'll see.
So lovely! And I'm quite envious--I had two 'Encore' azaleas that were given to me, and they bloomed the first year but then died after one of our harsh winters. Wish they were happier here.
Rain makes all the difference.
ReplyDeleteThe 'Encore' azaleas are wonderful bloomers, aren't they? I lost mine to drought, but I really want to add more to the garden.
