Brown Thrasher, May 25, 2016

ABC Wednesday and Wild Bird Wednesday
T is for Thrasher - A bird named for its habit of using its long curved bill to "thrash" through dirt and dead leaves in search of insects.
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, March 29, 2016
Brown Thrashers, Toxostoma rufum, are widespread across the eastern half of the United States and may venture into southern Canada. They are in the same family as the Mockingbirds, and can sing a wide variety of musical notes.

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, May 22, 2016
They are most often seen on the ground searching for insects, their primary food. They also eat seeds and berries. You may be able to attract them by placing feeders on or near the ground.

Have a great day!
