Toad with Marigolds, Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA |
I bought four six-packs of Marigolds and just set them down on my porch temporarily. I had a surprise visitor before I found time to plant them!

The Double-Crested Cormorant,
Phalacrocorax auritus, can be found in rivers and lakes, and along coastlines. They are experts at diving to catch small fish. They are migratory birds, and this one is probably on its way north to their breeding grounds. The double-crest will appear with its breeding plumage. (This may be a female or a juvenile).
Have a beautiful week-end!

Beautiful shot and creative of the cormorant ~
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you ~ ^_^
Hello, cute shot of the toad. It is a pretty pose with the flowers. The Cormorants seem to be getting more common sightings lately, great shot. Thanks for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest toad shot ever! He found a beautiful place to hide (until you were ready to plant those marigolds anyway!). We see cormorants quite often here in Florida and even sometimes in Oregon -- they seem to be thriving everywhere, so maybe it is not surprising that they might move further afield.
ReplyDeleteA Cormorant is new to me.
ReplyDeleteThose two photos describe a nice life
ReplyDeleteHello!:) Ha ha:) what a great shot of the Toad, he looks so cute surrounded by the flowers. Good job with the Cormorant too, a quite common bird along our shores, but I like to see them.
ReplyDeleteThe toad in the marigolds was just too cute!
ReplyDeleteI just love the image of the toad!
