Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, November 2014

Mums, November 13, 2014
As our the weather gets colder, it is more difficult to find plants still blooming.  These Chrysanthemums are the only blooms I have in my northeast Mississippi, US, zone 7 garden.
But considering the blast of cold weather this week (below freezing at night), I am grateful for whatever blooms I can find.

Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!

  1. Our mums are looking a bit wilted. The only one I have left is a yellow one, and slightly protected from the cold. Have a good weekend, Lea.

  2. Your asters are such a pretty color, a final hurrah! I hope the cold weather is treating you well. I think at least the icy roads are over here for now.

  4. Lovely mums. Still one of my favorite fall bloomers. We've had our first cold snap of the season here in zone 9a in southeast Texas this week also. No freezing yet, but close! The plants are beginning to shut down for the winter.

  7. I'm sorry to hear that the cold snap reached all the way to Mississippi but it's nice that the mums were left unscathed. Happy GBBD Lea!

  11. My son is working in Mississippi at the moment. I imagined him enjoying the warm temperatures while it gets colder here in the UK. Hope he packed a few jumpers then! Nice chrysanthemum.

  17. Glad the mums are holding on. I was surprised to find a few frost asters still in bloom here on a walk last week.
