Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, December 2013

Northeast Mississippi, USA, Zone 7

It is not easy to bloom in freezing weather, but my Pansies are putting forth their best efforts.

Blooms are smaller than usual
Heads are bowed down against the cold wind.
They just need a little warmth to open
Straight Out of the Camera, December 13, 2013
Today's weather forecast: Sunny 42F. Tonight: Clear skies, frost 29F.

  6. Hi Lea, Your pansies are looking pretty healthy. I didn't even take a picture of mine since they look so sad. But they should perk up when we get some warm days. (Thanks for the Bloom Day reminder!)

  7. I haven't tried growing them in the winter, but I get some every spring when I put my baskets out. Yours look good, maybe I should try some to see how they do.

  10. Pretty little flowers. All of our plants have succumbed to winter and are covered in snow.

  14. Hasn't it just been too cold so far this month? Ugh, I could use a few weekends in the 60's! But nothing keeps a good pansy down.
